artist statement 〰️

Within the captivating realm of art, I firmly believe that every creation carries the potential for political transformation. As an artist, I embark on a mission to harness the power of art to instigate positive change within our society. With its unique ability to materialize the abstract, art serves as a catalyst, shedding light on our world's intricacies, reconstructing narratives, and fostering reinvention.

At the core of my artistic journey lies my unwavering commitment to intersectional feminism. This philosophy, which embraces inclusivity and freedom for all individuals, irrespective of their ethnicity, gender, age, or economic background, permeates every facet of my work. As an intersectional feminist artist, I actively challenge the prevailing representations of gender, sexuality, race, and class that persist in our collective consciousness.

Through my art, I strive to create visual narratives that transcend the boundaries of convention and disrupt the status quo. I unravel the complexities of human existence and magnify the often silenced voices of marginalized communities. By embracing the richness of diversity, my work challenges preconceived notions, dismantles stereotypes, and offers alternative perspectives that celebrate the multitude of human experiences.

Each of my artistic endeavour serves as a powerful tool for provoking dialogue. I aim to awaken the social consciousness of viewers, prompting them to question deeply ingrained beliefs, biases, and prejudices. Through art, I foster an environment of empathy and understanding, cultivating spaces where conversations flourish and transformative change can take root.

Artivism, the fusion of art and activism, defines the essence of my creative journey. I view art as a dynamic force capable of transcending gallery walls and permeating the collective consciousness of society. By merging my artistic expression with a steadfast dedication to social justice, I strive to challenge the normative narratives and envision a world where equality, dignity, and inclusivity reign supreme.

My endless interest in human beings, communities and transformation can be seen in my work. I always produce my art work together with people and communities with aesthetic interest and a critical eye on our social environment. I believe that change can happen when people are engaged and given the opportunity to experiences rather than keeping the audience in the distance.
